Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Social Media & Content Manager to join our Corporate Communications Team.

The Opportunity:

The role of Social Media & Content Manager at RV is responsible for the development and implementation of best practice Social Media Strategy and related communications across all corporate digital channels.

Key Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Development of social media strategy and content plans across all channels aligned with RV’s Vision and Values– including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn (as well as other channels as they are adopted).
  • Create, maintain, and grow new and existing social networks, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and others.
  • Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content across digital and social media channels.
  • Create a regular publishing schedule that supports our communications and marketing campaigns and objectives and promote content through social advertising.
  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content which promotes RV programs, events and activities.
  • Manage a small social media budget – including advertising expenditure and content creation.
  • Monitor social media progress using web analytic tools.
  • Incorporate optimisation strategies, analyse data, and research the best ways to increase engagement.
  • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholder bodies, including racing clubs, and partners of industry programs including Off the Track

About you:

As the successful candidate, you must possess the following:

  • Experience in developing strategic approach to social communication and content development for brands and organisations.
  • Intimate knowledge of the Australian content landscape, specifically in social, video, native publishers and influencer networks
  • Strong working knowledge of social and web publishing and management tools for example Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or HubSpot.
  • Strong working knowledge of social and web publishing and management tools for example Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or HubSpot.
  • Knowledge of Adobe creative cloud or equivalent, particularly Photoshop & Illustrator, and Google Analytics.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for the management of website content.
  • Experience identifying and creating content campaigns for a target audience, including amplification of reach through media and PR tactics.
  • Understanding of best practice in social and content campaign measurement, KPIs and analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects.
  • An understanding of racing is a distinct advantage.
